Hey, better late than never! See Laura at I'm an Organizing Junkie for more menu ideas!
Monday: Horseradish Flank Steak (a la Super Suppers) and Rosemary Roasted Potatoes
Tuesday: leftover steak w/ salad and garlic bread
Wednesday: Double Herb Roasted Chicken and Potatoes, green beans
Thursday: Italian Mini-Meat Loaf, baked potatotes (This is the best meatloaf recipe I've ever had, and I like it better in mini-loaves...it doesn't seem as old-fashioned and icky.)
Friday: Cheesy Ham Chowder (Super good soup, and the leftovers are just as good! RR loves this stuff.)
Saturday: leftovers
Money saving grocery tip: plant fresh herbs! I planted a little herb garden this year to see how I'd like it. (RR laughs at my calling it a garden...hey, it's a container garden!!) I used to only occasionally use fresh herbs b/c they are expensive, but it is really cheap to plant them yourself and then you have an abundance! I only planted basil, oregano, and rosemary, and I used them a ton and will definitely do it again.

Hi! This is Kathryn, Libby's real :-) little sister... I read your blog sometimes because she has a link on hers!
I am into menu planning right now ... but am definitely no master at it...I just have a beast at home that MUST be fed on time! I am always on the prowl for recipes, shortcuts, and money savers.
I have noticed you mention Super Suppers - there is a place called "Your Evening Meal" over on my side of town that is a decent bit cheaper and super yummy (at least what I have had so far) The owner is nice Christian couple with 5 children and I don't know how many grandchildren. They are not a franchise and I think that makes it a bit more economical - it might be a bit of a drive for you but if you were getting 6-12 meals it might be worth the 15+ dollars in savings!

One day I might blog - menus might be the thing that drives me to go ahead and take the plunge!
I love this idea. Thanks for the menu.
ditto on the herbs. you can buy a whole plant for what you pay for a small serving at the store!
i'm glad kathryn posted that about your evening meal...out of the way...but maybe worth a try? we can investigate ;)
Kathryn, thanks for the info on Your Evening Meal! I'm going to call and ask them a few things. Good to hear from you!
thanks for the tip on the herb garden. I don't have a green thumb, so are they hard to grow?
Kari - nope, not hard to grow at all. I watered mine every other day and they did fine.
looks yum amanda! that's great that you started an herb garden! i planted my first last year and have added a little every year. it's so easy and SO cheap!
and kari, if you're reading this, i tend to kill more things than keep them alive when it comes to gardening. the good thing is that the plants are only $3 or so, so if one dies, just pop a new one in!
I love a meal plan. I need one at my house!
