Do you mind if I vent? :)

I have noticed lately how the prices of things keep going up and places are taking away "perks" that used to be free. For instance, the other day at McDonald's there was a sign that said there would be an extra charge for condiments. Really?!?! They are going to charge me for ketchup? It's bad enough that they make me ask for it and don't just put some in the bag. And did you know that airlines charge for your checked baggage now? What!?! Yes, it's true. We are flying to visit R's family soon, and it's $15 for the first bag and $25 for the second. That's per passenger, of course. And don't get me started on the price of jeans. I had $100 gift certificate to Belk, and so I went shopping for a few things to get me through this Fall, jeans being the primary item, of course. Umm, I can't even buy ONE pair of jeans for $100! The designer jeans that are all the rage (did I just sound like my grandma?) are at least $100 each. Ralph Lauren was one of the cheapest brands I could find, and they were $70 or so. Good grief! I have no plans to buy jeans to "get me through" that cost that much! I have what I call the "$30 threshold"...if it's more than $30, I have to think long and hard about whether I should get it. And here's the worst one: the other day we were out of milk so I went to a gas station to get more. I got two gallons of milk and paid $12.06. FOR TWO GALLONS OF MILK!!! Anywho, I'm done w/ my rant. If y'all know any good deals on jeans, milk, or free condiments, let me know. :)

If you have a Sams membership, they have the least expensive milk I have found - $.80 cheaper than the Walmart even!

yikes, it seems like everything is getting more expensive. I saved up and bought a pair of good jeans last year. I LOVE them. I'm usually a gap girl or levi's...really I couldn't tell that much of a difference. But, I love my special jeans! I saved up and tried a pair. I'm pretty sure I got them for birthday or something because G thought it was ridiculous. I would forfeit all my previous pairs of jeans for 1 of my great pair. REALLY,I wear them everyday! I found a brand that I liked and fit me well and bought them online. ebay or you can find some at tjmax or filene's basement! I've decided I'd rather have 1 good pair of jean and 1 good bra that I love than 25 pairs of each :) I can tell a big difference with both of those 2 things!
as far as groceries. My Bham friends have raved about that cheap grocery store that you have to carry your own bags to. If I lived there I would totally try that :)alot of my friends are playing that "grocery game" too! They find great deals with that.

I LOVE this post! First, I will NEVER own a pair of designer jeans...who has $100 for JEANS! I'd be scared to wear those jeans with 3 kids! I got mine at OLD NAVY when they were on sale for $12!
I know you can buy Milk at Aldi for 1.99 everyday. It's in Homewood so if you aren't over that way, it's not worth it because of the gas prices! We either get ours there or at Publix (3.39)
Paying for ketchup is just wrong.

Totally with you! I can't believe that McD is charging for ketchup. I mean they are making 99.9999999 cents on each $1 drink they are selling not to mention the additional items you end up buying because they got you in the door!
