Her Obsession

In one of my recent posts, I sort-of alluded to the Bean's obsession with all things Snow White. Well, the Bean has taken it to the next level.
Her hair has been badly in need of a trim for the last several weeks. Being a true frugalista, I decided I could cut it myself. So I got a tutorial from my friend over at Pink Magnolia's, and bought a pair of shears from Sally's. When I told the Bean that I was going to cut her hair, she had an opinion. She wanted it cut like Snow White's. So I got a picture of Snow White and explained to the Bean that Snow White's hair was chin-length. And the Bean's hair was down to the middle of her back. And that once we cut the hair, we couldn't tape or glue it back on. And maybe we shouldn't cut it that short. But the Bean could not be deterred. She wanted it cut like Snow White's. So we did. And I cut off 7 inches of hair!!! SEVEN!! The Bean LOVES it, and she takes a second look now anytime she sees herself in the mirror. We also curled it for the pics to really get the Snow White look down pat. What a fun memory!

The Bean's first haircut

I know she's over 2, but the Bean had her first haircut this week! We went to a special kid's place for the first cut, and she had a blast and felt like a princess. We had a whole little "girl's morning out" since Baby G was in the nursery. We had blueberry muffins at Starbucks to start the morning...the Bean with juice, and Mommy with a Gingersnap Latte. (Yum.) And then we went for the main event...she sat in the princess chair, with the princess cape, and did a pretty good job doing what the stylist told her to do, especially once the stylist told her that she would get a sucker if she did what she was told. The Bean loves her some suckers. And then she got some sparkle spray in her hair, and some cotton candy scented "hair spray", and a purple glitter star on her cheek. And of course the much anticipated sucker as well. Then to finish off our girls morning out, we went to the grocery store where she got some Bob and Larry (Veggietales) fruit snacks, and then to eat pizza for lunch. Quite the morning for a 2-year-old. Here are some pics from our little adventure.

Chic up-do

If any of you are around me for any significant amount of time, you know that I pretty much pull my hair up in a ponytail/knot thingie like almost every day, esp. now that Baby G is here. I pretty much only "fix" my hair for church and other special occasions. Here is the Bean w/ my signature 'do. We had waffles and syrup for breakfast the other morning, and I didn't want her to get syrup in her hair, so this was my solution. And yes, that's a plain old office rubber band in her hair...it was in our junk drawer and prevented me from walking all the way up the stairs to her room to get a proper hair rubber band. What can I say...I'm lazy! :)

More hair-do pics!!

Here are more hair pics of the Bean. I mean, can she get any more adorable??? FYI, she is not quite walking yet. She walks w/ her push toy all around the house, but she's not brave enough to attempt it on her own quite yet. She turns one the last day of this month! Crazy. Also, aren't her jammies cute? $5 at Ross. :)

The half-up pig tails

Ok, so this is not a hairstyle pic per se, but Cousin Evan paid us a visit the other day, and this pic was just too cute not to post. The Bean was so excited about her visitors. (Uncle Drew, Aunt Marianna, Mimi and Grandpa were also here.)

New hair-do's

Here's a new hair style...the pigtails! And just for those of you who think she never lost any hair, check out the back view. She lost some in the back, but it was covered up with the longer top hair. She has a comb over. I think the Bean likes the piggy's...that's why she's giving me a thumbs up! Enjoy!
